Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data JoinerDesk collects, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
JoinerDesk provides quoting software to joinery companies. For the account and billing data of the companies who subscribe, we are the data controller. For the client and project data you put into your workspace, you are the controller and we are your processor.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, work email, company name and details, and login credentials.
- Content you upload — drawings, documents, notes and the quotes you build, which may contain your clients’ names and addresses.
- Usage data — logs and basic analytics needed to run, secure and improve the service.
Why we use it
- to provide the service — build, price and send quotes;
- to run AI features — we send relevant parts of your content to our AI providers to produce quotes;
- to manage your subscription, support you, and keep the service secure;
- to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure service, and legal obligations.
AI providers and sub-processors
We use trusted providers to run the service — for AI (to read drawings and draft quotes), email delivery, and hosting. They act on our instructions, are bound by contract, and only process data to deliver their part of the service. We do not sell your data or use your content to train third-party models beyond producing your own results.
Where data is stored
Your workspace data is hosted on servers we control. Some providers (for example AI and email) may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your workspace data while your account is active. If you close your account we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records (for example for accounting) for longer.
Your rights
- access a copy of your personal data, and export your workspace data;
- correct data that is wrong, or ask us to delete it;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
For your clients’ personal data held in your workspace, please raise requests with the company whose workspace it is; we will help them respond.
Security
Each company’s workspace is isolated, access is controlled per user, changes are audit-logged, and passwords are stored hashed. We keep backups and deploy updates without downtime.
